Ready for school Club 2018

Blocks Speech and Language Clinic and Kiddo Active Therapy are thrilled to announce our first edition of our

Ready for School Club to help children improve their reading and writing readiness skills. If your child has difficulty

with coloring, drawing, tracing, copying shapes and cutting, as well as identifying letters, the sounds they make,

and sounds in words,  this group may be a great fit for them. Lead by an occupational therapist to work on

fine motor skills and by a speech therapist to work on phonological awareness skills, this program will get them

ready to learn to read and write. 

 

Through play and positive peer interactions, children will also explore other ready-for-school skills, such as following a routine, engaging in a group, or keeping their belongings in order.  This program has been designed to best prepare your child to enter the new school year ready to succeed. 

 

Who is this club for:

• Children entering Kindergarten in the Fall 2018

• Children in Kindergarten who are struggling to keep up with their peers

Ratio:

 

• Class size between 5-7children: Thursdays in Occupational Therapy & Friday in Speech Therapy

Session 3: Thursday July 12th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 4: Friday July 13th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 5: Thursday July 19th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 6: Friday July 20th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 7: Thursday July 26th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 8: Friday July 27th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

 

Session 2:

Session 1:  Thursday Aug 2nd, 8:00 - 9:00am

Session 2:  Friday Aug 3rd, 8:00 - 9:00am

Session 3: Thursday Aug 9th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Session 4: Friday Aug 10th, 8:00 – 9:00 am

Note that 2 groups will be offered this summer across 8 different thematic sessions, thus you may register your child for one or both groups.

Location:

 

All sessions will take place at Kiddo Active & Blocks Montreal: 845 Querbes, Office 200, Montreal, Qc H2V 3X1

 

Cost:

 

• $399 for 8 sessions

• $780 for all 16 sessions

 

Receipts will be provided for insurance and/or income tax purposes.

Registration:

 

Registration will be accepted by email, mail or in person. To reserve your spot 50% of the payment is required with the remaining 50% 30 days prior to program start date. Receipts will be provided at the last session.

 

Checks can be made out to Kiddo Active Therapy or Blocks Therapy. Credit card and debit payments can be made at the clinic or by phone.

Other Information:

 

Children who are not currently receiving services through either Kiddo Active or Blocks are welcome

to join the Ready for school Club. Should this be the case a representative will reach out to you to plan for

a mandatory screening with parent and child. This is required to assure that the group is the ideal

fit for your child as each group is organized to be cohesive to the best of our abilities. 

 

Policy:

 

 Kiddo Active Therapy and Blocks Speech and Language Clinic cancellation policy for groups:​

• In the case of cancellation prior to the registration deadline of 30 days prior to your chosen program, a full refund will be granted.

• In the case of cancellation past the registration deadline, a refund of 50% of the fees will be granted.

• In the case of cancellation after the first session, no refund will be granted, unless the therapists determine that the group is not the right fit for the child.

 

The registration deadline for this group is June 1, 2018.
